Are you struggling to find wedding vendors with the same values as you? In this day and age? Yep. It is happening. Vendors all around the world are turning couples down because of their personal beliefs.

I am Naomi, and I am part of the LGBTQ community myself. I am engaged to a beautiful woman and thank goodness I went against the grain because I found my person and I have never been happier. We deserve better, you deserve better, and you deserve to have the wedding you have always dreamt of.
Three years ago I was hired to shoot my very first lesbian wedding. WOW. I was honored. The more I started working with them they started opening up to me about their struggles finding vendors that wanted to work with them. I was in shock at the amount of places that had TURNED THEM DOWN!! These places felt so strongly that they turned down business just because they did not want a lesbian couple getting married at their venue. Their loss. I was honestly blown away by the experiences they had with other business owners. I knew that our community struggled but I couldn’t even fathom someone looking at me and telling me they aren’t interested in my money because of who I choose to kiss every day.
Unfortunately, the world we live in often judges those who are true to their authentic selves. Regardless, if it causes others to be uncomfortable, you better continue to be YOU. Who cares what every one else thinks.
I say all of this to remind you that there ARE vendors out there who love the LGBTQ community. Not only do we love you but we want to make your day just as special as you imagined it.
Do your research on your dream vendors. Do a little deep dive and see if they have worked with LGBTQ couples in the past. Personally, I have it in my bio but there might be some vendors that aren’t as open about their values. Do not be afraid to ask questions to see if this person or company is right for you. Weddings are NOT cheap and there are so many details that go into your special day whether that day is big or small. Surround yourself with those who will build you up and make you feel all of the love that you and your partner deserve.
Doing research is important to save you the extra stress and heartache. Finding vendors that share your values will make your day that much better. These people are the ones who will be helping you make memories so make sure those memories are shared with those who love you for being YOU.
Thank you for reading and please share if you or a loved on is in the market for LGBTQ friendly wedding vendors.
